UEFA Appoints Referees for 2025 European Finals

As European club and international competitions draw to a thrilling close, UEFA has confirmed the match officials who will oversee the finals of its tournaments. Here’s a chronological breakdown of the refereeing teams selected for the key fixtures in the coming weeks.

 

2025 UEFA Europa League Final – Wednesday 21 May

Fixture: Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United

Venue: San Mamés Stadium, Bilbao, Spain

Ivana Martinčić steps into the spotlight for her first UEFA Women’s Champions League final. Having served as 4th official in last year’s final and officiated three UWCL matches this season, she is also set to referee at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.

Schärer, who refereed the 2024 UEFA Super Cup, rounds off this season’s finals. An international since 2015, he has officiated 11 UEFA club matches this season and continues to earn recognition on Europe’s biggest stages.
